New Orleans Meeting Logistical information
The 2012 French Colonial Historical Society
conference is being held in New Orleans. Registration begins on
Thursday, May 31 at 8am and will continue throughout the day. The
conference hotel is the Astor Crowne Plaza, which is located at the corner of Canal and Bourbon Streets.

The conference ends Saturday, June 2nd. Transportation to and from the
city by car is via I-10. All flights arrive at the New Orleans
Louis Armstrong Airport (msy). The airport is approximately 30 minutes
from the downtown area and has shuttle buses and taxis. The fee for the
shuttle bus is approximately $38.00 round trip. Or $20.00 one way. If
you have a child you must provide an approved car seat. Taxis charge a
flat rate of $37.50 to the French Quarter, without tip. The festivities
include a reception at the Cabildo, hosted by the Louisiana State
Museum and cocktails at the Historic New Orleans Collection. The
banquet will be held Saturday, June 2nd at the Acme Oyster House, a
traditional and very popular New Orleans restaurant, on Iberville
Street. We encourage everyone to plan to attend what will be a unique
New Orleans experience.
